Abrasive Type

Aluminium Oxide

Aluminium Oxide is the most common abrasive type. It is ideal for grinding carbon steel, high speed steel, annealed malleable iron, wrought iron and bronzes.

Silicon Carbide

Silicon Carbide is ideal for grinding grey iron, chilled iron, brass, soft bronze and aluminium. It can also be used on stone, rubber and other non-ferrous metals.

Zirconium Alumina

Tough and durable, Zirconium Alumina is best used for rough applications including cut-off operations on a broad range of steels and steel alloys.

Ceramic Oxide

Ceramic Oxide has a high purity that allows it to fracture at a controlled rate. This strong and hardly material is used in demanding applications on steels and alloys.

Grit Size

Abrasive grit size refers the abrasives grade. Abrasive grade is separated into three categories – fine, medium and course. In general, the smaller the abrasive grain the smoother the finish.

Hardness Grade

Soft Grade

Soft grade abrasives release new abrasive grains more quickly. This results in faster stock removal while creating the least amount of heat.

Hard Grade

Hard grade abrasives shed their dull grains more slowly, creating a more durable abrasive. It removed less stock then its soft grade counterpart, but increases the amount of heat in the base material.
