Key Facts from the ABS Work-Related Injuries Report

563,600 Australian workers experienced a work-related injury between July 2017 and June 2018, equating to 4.2% of the working population. 54.4% of those were males, and most commonly occurred in the age groups of 50-54 and 20-24. The construction industry accounted for the most work related injuries or illnesses (59 per 1000 employees), followed by the manufacturing industry (58 per 1000 employees), and the social assistance and health care industry (55 per 1000 employees).
