ONE of Australia's leading Muslim clerics pleaded with violent youths to stop submitting to Satan, and condemned the Greenacre killers as not having an atom's weight of faith in their hearts.
In a strongly worded address to hundreds of faithful gathered for afternoon prayer services yesterday at Lakemba Mosque, Sheik Taj Din Al Hilaly appealed for an end to bloodshed.
The appeal comes after Mervat Hamka, 22, and Ziad Abdulrazak, 24, were killed by gunmen who fired more than 100 bullets into the Greenacre home in south-western Sydney on Tuesday.
Police have said the bloodshed was the result of an escalating family feud.
Separate funeral services were held for the young mother of two and Mr Abdulrazak at the mosque yesterday.
Sheik Hilaly condemned those behind their murders, and some other serious crimes, as being bereft of faith.
